Fifth Avenue Floral

I did say that I loved this stamp set didn't I?  I am having so much fun playing with it.

This card is the Fifth Avenue Floral Rose stamp using Basic Grey and Baja Breeze, with a bit of Urban Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP). Cut a mount for your basic grey base in baja breeze (I used 14cm x 9.5cm) and mounted using double sided tape. I cut a piece of the Urban Garden DSP (13.5cm x 4.5cm). Mount this wherever you like. I used another piece of Basic Grey (9cm x 6.5cm), stamped with the part of the Fifth Avenue Floral rose at the top and bottom, mounted, again wherever you like. Stamped the Fifth Avenue Floral Rose in full onto Baja Breeze card stock using Not Quite Navy marker, cut around it and mounted using Dimensionals. Stamped the saying in Not Quite Navy marker onto the Baja Breeze card stock, added some Very Vanilla ribbon.  I have decided that I need to start using my DSP more often to add some patterns to my cards.

All supplies to make this card can be ordered through me.  Contact me now to place your order.

Fifth Avenue Floral - Watercolour Roses

Nice huh?  I recently purchased this stamp set and I am loving it. I had seen other demonstrators do some amazingly beautiful things with this stamp set, particularly the watercolouring.

To make this card I stamped the image onto glossy white card stock using Whisper White stamp pad, then sprinkled the image with clear embossing powder and heated with the heat gun. I then gave it a generous spray of water, grabbed some Stampin’ up ink refills (I used Perfect Plum and So Saffron) and used my aquapainter to grab a little of each ink colour and dab onto the rose – the water will make it spread (use a lot of ink for a deeper colour). Put the colour wherever you want it, mix in as many colours as you like. If the ink doesn’t spread easily, wet your cardstock a bit more (you can also spray with water after adding the ink if need be. When you are happy with the colours, soak up any excess water with your aquapainter then leave your rose to dry – rest on an angle so the water runs off your card stock. It looks a little messy but you will cut around the flower when it dries (takes about 30 minutes).

When dry, cut around your rose and place on the card. I used Elegant Eggplant for my base card and cut out squares using Barely Banana and Elegant Eggplant. I also stamped a portion of the white rose onto both the elegant eggplant squares. Add some ribbon, mount your rose with Dimensionals and voila!  All supplies can be ordered through me

There will be a class on this technique on Saturday 28 November, at 10.00am.
Email me now to reserve your seat!  Cost is $10.00

Choo Choo

I bought this stamp set from the Spring Mini Catalogue with Aaron (my son) in mind.  He is so into trains and can tell you who is who from the Thomas the Tank Engine range.

I made this card using some Glorious Green, Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the images onto white cardstock in Old Olive (had to use the stamp-a-ma-jig to get it straight (fantastic little tool that) and mounted the image onto Old Olive, then onto Glorioius Green.  I used some Kiwi Kiss 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon along the top.

Pretty basic card I know but would make a fantastic card for a child's birthday or for a beginner.

Welcome to my blog

Hi and welcome to my blog. I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since April 2009. I have been making cards and scrapbook pages for a few years now and was introduced to the Stampin' Up! range a while ago by my wonderful upline Cheryl Andrews (thanks Cheryl). It took me some time but I decided to become a demonstrator, just because I love their products.
