A Sad Farewell
It is that time again when Stampin' Up! retire stamp sets and accessories. While it is in some ways a tad sad, it is also very exciting. I will miss Concord Crush and my all time favourite Designer Series Paper (Mocha Morning Specialty), my "Dasher", "Short & Sweet" and Baroque Motifs stamp sets (really sad about this one), however, I will grow to love other stamp sets and colours I am sure. What will you miss.
You can see the full retired lists here:-
Stampin' Up! Retiring Stamps and Accesories
Make sure you take a look because there are some real bargains here. Please feel free to email me your order...I can have it delivered to your door in a few days. You need to get in quick though as some products are already sold out.
The new catalogue will be out from 1 September 2012 and I know there are some really great products, some fantastic new In Colours and some changes to existing products. If you would like a copy, please email me (lisabowcock@bigpond.com) - I will forward one to you for $15.95 (including postage). I will be able to post these from1 September 2012. The best way to get a copy of your new catalogue though is to host a workshop...you will receive a free catalogue and you will be one of the first to receive free hostess dollars on exciting new products.

Mad Hatter
When my friend, Nic, asked if I could so some invitations for her daughter's 2nd Birthday, I couldn't wait to get started. She was having a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" and I couldn't wait to get my "hats" ready.
I freehand drew the template (pretty artistic for me who cannot draw to save herself)!! I used the remaining card stock from the A4 sheet of paper and embossed using the Perfect Polka Dot folder for the bottom of the hat (I used heaps of different colours to make it fun and nice and bright), then added a strip of Designer Series Paper above that. I then stamped randomly in Pumpkin Pie and Island Indigo using the "Mixed Bunch" and "Cottage Garden" stamp sets. The main flower is stamped in either Pumpkin Pie or Inland Indigo, again from the "Mixed Bunch" set, cut out and then sprinkled with some Chunky sprinkles for some bling (because every girl should have some bling...right?)
My friend loved them, they were just what she wanted and she loved them in all the different colours, all from the Stampin' Up! Brights Colour range. I love it that anything can be made using your imagination and some card stock!
What do you think???

Workshop Card Number 2
As promised, here is the second card I that I showed at my last Workshop. Again it uses the Simply Scored Tool. Looks hard doesn't it? It's not!
The rosette is simply a 30cm strip of paper, approximately 3cm wide, scored every quarter of an inch. Join together using double sided tape and then turn inside out, push together until it forms a circle. I joined mine with some glue for extra hold and glued a glimmer brad in the middle. The background is simply the Dots Big Shot Embossing Folder, the scallop border is cut using the Adorning Accents Die. Nice, simple card don't you think? Good for a man and you can use for a ladies card as well simply by changing your colour and your Designer Series Paper.
Don't forget the promotion for the month of July. Host a Workshop and with qualifying sales, you could be earning an additional $90 worth of Hostess benefits. Take a look at my website for all the details click here

Workshop Card Number 1
I did my first workshop in a while last week...with a wonderful group of ladies. The hardest part with these ladies is coming up with new and exciting techniques for them to do.
My first attempts at designing the workshop cards were soooo lousy! I couldn't believe that I came up with such a bad card...reminded me of when I first started making them. I knew that I wanted to do a different technique and had recently bought the Simply Scored Tool and knew that I wanted to incorporate this into the workshop in some way.
The first result is this:-
I used the Simply Scored Tool to score a frame around the edge of the card, which I did three times to emphasise it (you can see it more on the left hand side of the card). Then I simply cut some Pacific Point and Whisper White Card Stock and placed in middle of the card. I stamped in Rich Razzleberry from the "Mixed Bunch" Stamp Set and the "Imagine the possibilities" in Pacific Point, which is from the "Word Play" set. Tied a knot with Whisper White Silk Ribbon, placed a Rich Razzleberry Button in the middle of the flower and tied off with a piece of linen thread. I love the colour combination. Do you?
Stay tuned for my second workshop card...coming soon and my "Mad Hatter" Invitation.

Hello! It has been such a long time...a bit embarassing really that I have not posted on my blog for OMG, six months! I am sorry! Life has a habit of getting in the way unfortunately. The good news is that we have new flooring throughout the house and all our bedrooms are painted. While we still have a long way to go (and more hard work) at least we are seeing some reward for our efforts.
Anyway...enough of me rattling on!
Down to the good ol' craft stuff. I haven't been doing as much card making as what I used to. It's funny what kids pick up on...Aaron (5 yo) called my craft table "the card that you used to make cards at"! lol I am still dabbling though...creating here and there so I thought I would share a couple of creations with you.
This card uses the Medallion background stamp.
I've used the new Big Shot Embossing folders for both these cards.
And this one uses the new Big Shot Framelits and embossing folders...as well as the Medallion stamp.
Stampin' Up! have given us all a "Reason to Smile" this month. Spend $125 in Stampin' Up products and receive a free "Reason to Smile" stamp set. See my website for further details "A Reason to Smile" promotion
I am not promising...but I will try to update this sooner rather than later!
Thanks for looking.
