Happy New Year
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year will be a positive and rewarding one. It has again been such a long time since I have updated this blog. Time has flown as I am sure it has for all of you! I have started a new job which is full time so time is less meaning crafting time is less :(. I was lucky enough to get an IPad for Christmas so this post is made from my IPad as a test (I have trouble gaining access to the computer at home lately...the kids have overtaken that) so if I can update with my IPad, I might be able to do more often!
Sale-a-Bration starts soon and you know what that means...free stamp sets, woohoo! Further details to come. In the meantime, I will just post some creations!

A Sad Farewell
It is that time again when Stampin' Up! retire stamp sets and accessories. While it is in some ways a tad sad, it is also very exciting. I will miss Concord Crush and my all time favourite Designer Series Paper (Mocha Morning Specialty), my "Dasher", "Short & Sweet" and Baroque Motifs stamp sets (really sad about this one), however, I will grow to love other stamp sets and colours I am sure. What will you miss.
You can see the full retired lists here:-

Mad Hatter
When my friend, Nic, asked if I could so some invitations for her daughter's 2nd Birthday, I couldn't wait to get started. She was having a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" and I couldn't wait to get my "hats" ready.
I freehand drew the template (pretty artistic for me who cannot draw to save herself)!! I used the remaining card stock from the A4 sheet of paper and embossed using the Perfect Polka Dot folder for the bottom of the hat (I used heaps of different colours to make it fun and nice and bright), then added a strip of Designer Series Paper above that. I then stamped randomly in Pumpkin Pie and Island Indigo using the "Mixed Bunch" and "Cottage Garden" stamp sets. The main flower is stamped in either Pumpkin Pie or Inland Indigo, again from the "Mixed Bunch" set, cut out and then sprinkled with some Chunky sprinkles for some bling (because every girl should have some bling...right?)
My friend loved them, they were just what she wanted and she loved them in all the different colours, all from the Stampin' Up! Brights Colour range. I love it that anything can be made using your imagination and some card stock!
What do you think???

Workshop Card Number 2
As promised, here is the second card I that I showed at my last Workshop. Again it uses the Simply Scored Tool. Looks hard doesn't it? It's not!
The rosette is simply a 30cm strip of paper, approximately 3cm wide, scored every quarter of an inch. Join together using double sided tape and then turn inside out, push together until it forms a circle. I joined mine with some glue for extra hold and glued a glimmer brad in the middle. The background is simply the Dots Big Shot Embossing Folder, the scallop border is cut using the Adorning Accents Die. Nice, simple card don't you think? Good for a man and you can use for a ladies card as well simply by changing your colour and your Designer Series Paper.
Don't forget the promotion for the month of July. Host a Workshop and with qualifying sales, you could be earning an additional $90 worth of Hostess benefits. Take a look at my website for all the details click here
